If you are gardening for sixty minutes, you could burn more than 300 calories. If you garden for several hours, you may get as much benefit as you would from an hour in the gym.

Osteoporosis is a condition where your bones are weak and are more likely to fracture. When you garden often, you use different muscles in your body, making your limbs stronger.
As a result, you are less likely to suffer from osteoporosis as you age. And, if you do have issues with weak bones, your condition may not be as dire as someone that does not garden on a regular basis.
