- Pest control booth
Now, as you have got the primary knowledge, let’s jump for plantation.
The First Work
Firstly, just have to choose the place for planting. It may be a container or a pot. You must keep in mind that transplantation is not good for cilantro. Because cilantro does not match with transplantation. Then sow seeds or start with the infant plants. And make sure your plants must keep a distance of 3 to 4 inches from each other.
Use Terracotta Pot
Or you may use a terracotta container or pot for the plantation. It will absorb more moisture for the tree. And will help in ventilation and passing of water through the roots. But one thing must be to keep in mind that, just do as many holes as you can for the drainage system.
Let the Roots to Breathe
When you are planting indoor, your plant will not get as much nutrition as it needed. If you could plant it in the garden, then it could easily absorb nutrition from the soil as it needed. So you need to give the root to breathe and absorb its proper nutrition. So mix the sand and potting soil so that water could pass easily.
Use of Fertilizer
For more nutrition, you can use a fertilizer of Fish Emulsion or 20-20-20 of chemical formulation for your cilantro plant. During the active growing period use these fertilizers bi-weekly using half concentration.
Watering is Important
Watering is important for every plant. But frequent watering could harm the plant. As we came to know cilantro as a delicate one, we must use water with hose only when we feel the soil is dry to touch. And must check the drainage system so that water does not strike in the bottom.
The sun always gives the plants to grow smoothly. And cilantro is not out of that syllabus. It needs the light of the sun for 3-4 hours per day. So it needs the proper place in-house, to get the light.
Harvesting is Important
Harvesting is important for all sorts of the plant. Indoor plants mostly need extra pampering. They naturally bend down for the light. So you much tweak them at the growing tips for bushier plants.
You may not get plenty amount of cilantro as you wished to get from outside. But your extra care, love, harvesting technique, watering of plants, growing light could give you the desired aromatic and flavorful cilantro herbs round the year.
The perfect climate for growing cilantro is hard to figure out. But it heightens in humidity and becomes choosey in humid. So we must plant in the humid season so that it could grow easily. Use the seeds to sow in the soil directly, because this technique works the best.
Pests are the Destruction
We can never compromise our plants with pests. They are the number 1 enemy of every plant. Cilantros do attract aphids, whitefly. So roundly inspect your herb plant and use precaution for it.
When the plants are at least 5-6 inches long, they are ready to pick it down. So do regular pick up. Otherwise, it may be defective. Try to pick it when it is its tender age. Because that will not taste bitter. And do not hesitate to pick more. Because the more you will pick, the more it will help to grow leaf.
Prepare for Next Season
After the flowering stage, cilantro cannot be consumable. So we need to pick before it blooms its flower. And most importantly, Cilantro is an annual herb. We cannot grow it around the year. So we must plant the seeds whenever our herb is at its maturity. We all want to have fresh things which could be easily produced.
And gardening is best for these sorts of mentality. But we cannot always have a garden. So we need something that could easily be done at home. Planting cilantro at home is the best and unique idea to get a fresh bunch of cilantro.
We tried to give our best solutions for your idea. And you must now follow all these instructions to get the better portion of cilantro. Last but not the least, do proper caring. Indoor plants do need extra care for better growth. And try to be nice to them, because plants could read our minds.
